KATHMANDU: Community Homestay Network (CHN) has won the ‘Front Runners 2021 Travel Tech Competition’ at a summit organised by World Travel Market (WTM) London.

WTM London is the leading global event for the travel industry to meet industry professionals and conduct business deals. The WTM London together with Travel Forward and the World Tourism Forum Lucerne brings the industry together to accelerate the race to sustainable transformation.

The first week of November was an incredible week for the CHN. After nearly 19 months of a complete halt to travel, the tourism industry is recovering gradually. In light of that, CHN made their presence and marked on WTM London as the winners of ‘Front Runners 2021 Travel Tech Competition’ in the category ‘Experiences Revolution’. Further, the network was also recognised for its efforts in growing the local economic benefits as ‘Ones to Watch’ at WTM Responsible Awards for Project Koseli.

The CHN team has wished to dedicate these recognitions to its communities who trust them in the process to build a tourism value chain. The acknowledgement of the efforts has inspired the network to do more and set an example through actions. The social enterprise that supports a network of community homestays in Nepal has committed to amplifying the rural voices and their participation to create responsible tourism and minimise tourism leakage across and beyond the country.

Meanwhile, the network team has expressed gratitude to the event organisers, all the supporters, partners and stakeholders for their support and motivation.
