KATHMANDU: NIC Asia Capital has concluded the third province-level capital market literacy programme in Adarsh Nagar, Birgunj Metropolitan City of Parsa district in Madhes Province.
NIC Asia Capital has been conducting various programmes under corporate social responsibility since its inception.
The Capital's Head - Merchant Banking, Damodar Rayamajhi, and Chief Operating Officer/Chief Investment Officer, Manish Ghimire, discussed Demat account, primary shares, securities secondary market, currency market, mutual investment funds, and also shared knowledge on when and how to invest in listed companies. During the meeting, detailed information and discussions were held regarding the recent state of the overall capital market including the issues to be taken into consideration.
The literacy programme was organised to instruct customers and new investors outside the valley to use services made available by the merchant banks, and easily join the capital bar and trade safely in the share market. The programme was organised since there were complaints that merchant banks were valley-centric which caused inconvenience to getting services from outside the valley.
More than 70 investors attended the event. The NIC Asia Capital has a plan to conduct similar literacy programmes in other provinces in the coming days.
