KATHMANDU: Nimbus and Daayitwa are partnering to enhance youth-government trust and promote evidence-based policymaking in Nepal.
The alignment between Nimbus and Daayitwa in the shared vision for an enterprising Nepal and in the shared values of innovating, collaborating and serving Nepal, has now been furthered by this project collaboration. A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed by Nimbus and Daayitwa on September 30. As one of the funding partners for Daayitwa Nepal Public Policy Fellowship, Nimbus will sponsor three Daayitwa Fellows for the 2023 cycle.
Since 2013, Daayitwa has mobilised 164 fellows (Nepali youth from 30 countries) to collaborate with 74 governmental organisations (federal, provincial and local levels) and 24 parliamentarians to conduct policy research. The fellows are selected through a rigorous global call for applications and conduct 3 to 6 months of policy research on various topics finalised as per the government needs across five themes — access to investment, youth employment, women’s economic empowerment, value chain and governance reform.
“A programme like Daayitwa Fellowship opens the door to meaningful conversations between youth and the government which can lead to more progressive youthful changes in the country,” Aanand Bagaria, MD, Nimbus.
“Daayitwa Fellowship has mobilized the country on a common journey of innovation, good governance and economic prosperity by strengthening cooperation and trust between the youth, government and the private sector. Daayitwa Fellowship is an unparalleled opportunity for young talented minds, perfected through decade-long rigorous experimentation. Fellows benefit from a rare insider view of how the government operates while contributing directly to the public policy process.” Dr Pukar Malla, Founder and Chairperson, Daayitwa.
Nimbus is honoured to gain a reputation as a well-known and trusted manufacturing and trading enterprise through its loyal consumers. Nimbus has been catering to agri-based products in Nepal. Its portfolio includes leading animal nutrition brands — Shakti and Himalayan Pet Food along with well-known FMCG brands — Byanjan and Sunaulo Kiran.
Likewise, Daayitwa is a Nepali non-profit, non-governmental organisation that envisions an enterprising Nepal, where every individual has opportunities for a prosperous future. Since 2013, Daayitwa has supported 141 young policy professionals from 30 countries to collaborate with 51 government organisations and 24 parliamentarians to conduct policy research projects at federal, provincial and municipal levels. Additionally, Daayitwa has accelerated 85 growth-oriented rural enterprises (45 women-led) to embrace business innovations, access low-interest loans, and create local jobs in three provinces of Nepal.
