NMB Bank organises financial literacy programme for Maiti Nepal members

KATHMANDU: NMB Bank organised financial literacy programme for the members of Maiti Nepal. The programme was attended by 53 women of the non-profit organisation dedicated to helping the victims of human trafficking The programme organised by the microfinance department of NMB Bank provided financial education to the participants on savings, investments, loans and various other services provided by the bank. Anuradha Koirala, founder of Maiti Nepal, the organisation's Executive Director Bishwaram Khadka, and programme operator Yubaraj Koirala were present at the programme. Likewise, on behalf of the bank, Buddhi Malla, Sharad Poudel and Nabin Panthi were present. NMB Bank has been organising financial literacy programmes targeting women's groups from time to time for women's empowerment. The bank believes that this programme will help participants become self-reliant by acquiring financial knowledge and will have a positive impact on the overall economy. Both Bank and Maiti Nepal committed to continuing to collaborate on such financial literacy programmes and other potential programmes in the future. NMB Bank has been awarded “The Bank of The Year Asia 2021” by The Banker magazine, London UK. NMB Bank has been adjudged the best bank in Asia beating out stiff competition from Asian giants such as China, India, Hongkong, South Korea and Japan.
