NOC hikes fuel prices; petrol, diesel cost Rs 155, Rs 138 per litre respectively

KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has increased the price of petrol, diesel and kerosene by Rs 5 per litre with effect from 12 midnight.

A meeting of the NOC board of directors held on Wednesday decided to hike fuel price.

The price of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) (domestic) has been increased by Rs 15 per litre and ATF (international) price by $200 per kilolitre. However, the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has remained unchanged.

Along with the latest price hike, the price of petrol in Kathmandu Valley has reached Rs 155 per litre while diesel and kerosene will cost Rs 138 per litre.

Even with the new price hike, the NOC has stated that it will incur a loss of around Rs 4.66 billion in the next 15 days.
