NRB reminds microfinance customers of ‘Grievance Hearing Desk’ for complaints

KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has urged the concerned members who make savings and credit transactions with the ‘D’ category microfinances to lodge complaints if they find such financial institutions not following the guidelines issued by the central bank. If the concerned members find the microfinance charging high-interest rates on loans and fees than the limit or illegally conducting auctions or resorting to any form of non-cooperation towards the businesses, they can complain to the ‘Grievance Hearing Desk’, the central bank said in a notice. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has been operating ‘Grievance Hearing Desk’ at the bank’s Microfinance Institutions Supervision Department to address the complaints related to microfinance financial services. Complaints can be filed via phone number 18105000022 (Toll free) or through NRB’s online complaint portal gunaso.nrb.org.np or E-mail: [email protected] or application can be registered at any office of the central bank during office hours.
