NTA issues NSP licence to Ncell

A A- A+
Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) has issued Network Service Provider (NSP) licence to private telecom operator, Ncell. Nepal Telecom (NT) and few internet service providers (ISPs) like Subisu and WorldLink have already obtained the NSP licence from the telecommunication sector regulator. Obtaining NSP licence means that Ncell can now enter into bandwidth trading in the domestic market by selling its existing bandwidth to other parties as well. According to NTA, it issued NSP licence to Ncell allowing the private telecom company to commence bandwidth trading. The Authority also added that Ncell was issued NSP licence after it met all the legal standards set by the government for NSP, including tax clearance. However, NTA is yet to issue 4G licence to Ncell though it had submitted its 4G roll out plan a month ago. On the other hand, NT is all set to launch its 4G service from January 1 in the capital and Pokhara.
