Paramount Motors launches MG Comet EV, MG4 EV

KATHMANDU: Paramount Motors, the authorised importer and distributor of MG vehicles in Nepal, has launched MG Comet EV and MG 4 EV.

Speaking on the launch of new electric vehciles, Paramount Motors General Manager Sachin Aryal said, “We are excited to introduce these two electric vehicles to the Nepali market. These stylish and practical vehicles are useful for those who want to own the vehicle on their own budget."

MG Comet EV has a single motor mounted on the rear axle and comes with a peak power output of 31.26kW and max torque of 110 Nm.

MG Comet EV's most significant concern has been its range capacity. But with each new launch, eco-friendly vehicles' technology has profoundly improved. The company claims that the EV offers a solidly decent ride of 230 km on one full charge. The battery is IP67 rated so the customer will not have to bother with the battery getting exposed to water.

It is built with safety in mind. The compact-size electric car gets dual front airbags, ABS+EBD, and front and rear three-point seat belts. Also, there is a rear parking camera and sensor, TPMS, and ISOFIX rear child seat anchors.

For comfort and convenience, MG Comet EV has features like a Full Digital Cluster with an embedded LCD Screen, Remote Central Locking, Manual AC and heater.

The starting price for MG Comet EV available in two variants — play and pace — is Rs 1.79 million.
The company offers a warranty of 100,000km or three years (whichever is earlier) on High Voltage Components and 8-year or 120,000km on High Voltage Battery Pack.

Another launched car MG4 EV has been announced as '2023 UK Car Of The Year'. MG4 EV has been given five stars for its safety features.

MG4 EV comes in two variants — comfort and luxury.

Both variants are equipped with touchscreen infotainment system, reversing camera and necessary safety features.

The main attraction of the MG4 EV is its individual suspension and rear wheel drive. MG4 EV has a driving range of up to 435km in single mode. The vehicle has a rear wheel layout for traction control and good handling. The rear ISOFIX, front side airbags, TPMS among other features ensure the safety of passengers
Additionally, there are features like seat belt reminder and for comfort and convenience, there are features like mobile phone Bluetooth Key, five driving modes.

The company offers a warranty of 150,000 km or eight years (whichever is earlier) at high voltage battery pack on MG4 EV.
The price of MG4 EV COM starts at Rs 4.14 million and MG4 EV Lux at Rs 5.89 million.

Meanwhile, there are a total of 19 charging stations for MG EV including AC and DC in Nepal. Paramount Motors has a plan to install 31 more charging stations across the country by the end of 2023. The DC charging stations have been installed in Mulkot, Chitwan, Kurintar, Butwal and Dhalkebar. It takes about half an hour to charge up to 80% at these charging stations. Other DC charging stations will be installed in Birtamod, Bardibas, Birgunj, Pokhara, Hetauda, Naubise, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, Gaighat, Lamahi including new service centres in Kusunti and Itahari. The company has AC charging stations in Kathmandu, Birtamod, Biratnagar, Chitwan, Bardibas, Sindhuli, Pokhara, Kurintar, Mulkot, Butwal, Birgunj, Itahari, Janakpur and Dhalkebar.
