PM Deuba extends best wishes on 2566th Buddha Jayanti

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has extended greetings on the occasion of 2566th Buddha Purnima today. Issuing a message of best wishes on 2566th Buddha Jayanti today, PM Deuba wished world peace, co-existence, tolerance, brotherhood and fraternity in the world. PM Deuba expressed his best wishes to all and wished that Buddha Purnima would inspire all to promote unity and mutual respect in the entire human community. The PM said, "I wish happiness, peace and progress to all Nepalis and Buddhist communities at home and abroad on the birthday of Lord Buddha, the apostle of peace, non-violence and compassion." He said, this day has been inspiring to move towards peace, non-violence, compassion, goodwill and self-realisation since ancient time. "Gautam Buddha is a luminary. His teachings and sermons are still relevant, useful and enduring for humans even today," the head of the government asserted in the message. He viewed that the four Arya Satya (Noble Truth) and Arya Astangik Marg (The Eightfold Path) were still useful and worthy of emulating even at present.
