President, PM extend greetings on Indrajatra festival

KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has wished for happiness, peace, prosperity and good health to all Nepalis at home and abroad on the occasion of the Kumari Indrajatra festival. In a message of greetings today, the President hoped that the Indra Jatra like century-old unique festivals would help promote the ancient civilisation and cultures. She expressed her confidence that the festival would help strengthen national unity, goodwill, tolerance and aspiration of cooperation among Nepalis of different ethnic, lingual, cultural and geographical sections. Likewise, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has also wished for peace, prosperity and happiness to all Nepalis living in the country and abroad on the occasion of the festival. In a message, PM Deuba said the festival observed by showing gratitude to God Indra, the god of rains and good harvest, has shown that there are inseparable relations between nature and humans. The festival would inspire us to protect and preserve our ancient civilisation and culture, the PM expressed his belief.
