Rastriya Beema Company celebrates 55th anniversary

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Beema Company Limited (RBCL) today organised a programme to celebrate its 55th anniversary at its head office in Kathmandu. Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and stakeholders of the company attended the programme held at the state-owned non-life insurance company. Addressing the programme, Finance Secretary Madhu Kumar Marasini stressed the need for making the company competitive by resolving various problems. There is a need to expand the business of the state-owned insurance company through the use of new technology, he said. "The company should be made competitive. For this, all government employees and stakeholders should be committed. There is a need to spread insurance education to people at their doorsteps," he said at an event. Acting chairperson of RBCL, Basanta Raj Pandey, pledged to bring policies to encourage its employees by resolving problems surrounding its employees and holding its annual general meeting and getting its audit done regularly. Likewise, preparations were underway to expand its business, bring out changes in its structure and do things relating to promotion and encouragement of insurance agents. Established on February 22, 1978, with authorised capital amounting to Rs 10 million, the number of its clients has reached 638,793. In the period of six months in the current fiscal year, 2021/22, RBCL collected Rs 6.5 billion in premium. Presently, RBCL has 22 branches across the country and aims to increase the figure to 28 this year. READ ALSO:
