Bihani Social Venture organised an interactive panel discussion with organisations that support young adults who experience struggle to find housing and or have limited family connections in Kathmandu. They discussed about their services and the challenges they face when supporting young adults transitioning to independent living, furthering education and making career decisions. The ultimate aim of the session was to create community as a family-like network through knowledge exchange, social engagement and potential accommodation arrangements in the future.
The goal is to develop sustainable, evidence-based, actionable steps towards age equality by expanding Bihani’s Saathiko Saathi (A Friend for a Friend) and Resource Pool initiatives. Saathiko Saathi is Bihani’s innovative multigenerational relationship network that creates community as additional support through phone/ social media communication, home visits, and other social engagements. Bihani’s Resource Pool of elders focuses on facilitating connections to provide a platform for Bihani members to share their knowledge, skills, and expertise with organisations, younger generations and the wider community in meaningful ways.
