Sagarmatha Toastmasters opened; becomes first club to operate in Nepali

KATHMANDU: Nepal Toastmasters witnessed a historic day on April 19 as it opened the first toastmasters club that operates in Nepali language. Preceding 53 clubs in Nepal, the Sagarmatha Toastmasters Club became the first Nepali language club in the country. Distinguished Toastmaster Ranjit Acharya, District Director of District 41 conducted the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected executive committee and the founding members of the Sagarmatha Toastmasters Club. The newly elected Club President of Sagarmatha Toastmasters Anil Keshary Shah emphasized creating an example through this club so that Nepali language Toastmaster clubs can be opened all over Nepal. Three vice-presidents — Manish Jha, Saroj Baniya, Nagma Shrestha — Club Secretary Shamir Upadhayay, Treasurer Subhash Sapkota, and Sergeant at Arms Sareeta Shri Gyawali were picked as executive committee members along with 24 other founding members. Nepal leaders from the district conducted orientation sessions for all the new members by highlighting all aspects and benefits of the Toastmasters programme. Present on the occasion were Rabindra Pradhan, Area Director Area N2, Shaurabh Lohani DTM, Division Director Division A, Moon Pradhan DTM District Public relations manager, and Suman Shakya DTM, Club Growth Director District 41. Sagarmatha Toastmasters Club will be dedicated to helping people from all walks of life to listen sensitively, think creatively, and speak effectively. It will also provide an opportunity to learn from interpersonal practice and experience in a supportive and positive environment in Nepali, helping members develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in strong self-confidence as well as an impactful business there will be a lot of development.
