Smart Telecom gets 4G license

The Nepal Telecom Authority Board on May 21 decided to allow a private telecom operator, Smart Telecom to provide 4G services from July 30. It is the third telecom operator to get this license. Smart Telecom has about 100 base transceiver towers in the valley and 400 BTS towers throughout the country. It has been providing services to 34 districts and has a total of 1.39 million users according to NTA. Meanwhile, NCell hs been allowed to start 4G services from June whereas Nepal Telecom is already providing the service in Kathmandu and Pokhara.
