Tatopani Customs Office collects Rs 3.42 billion in revenue

SINDGUPALCHOK: Tatopani Customs Office, Sindhupalchowk has collected Rs 3.42 billion in revenue in the last fiscal year 2021/22. The revenue collection was double the target. Chief Customs Officer of Tatopani Customs Office, Narad Gautam, said revenue collection increased by double in the last fiscal year despite various problems including coronavirus pandemic, landslide, flood and a decrease in import of Chinese goods. The office collected Rs 3.42 billion in revenue against the target of Rs 1.46 billion, he shared. Gautam further said that revenue collection was better than expected due to various reasons including import of goods, adherence to health safety protocols and training for businessmen. Previously, a target was set to collect Rs 4.50 billion in the fiscal year 2020/21, only Rs 1.02 billion was collected. Gautam added that a target has been set to collect Rs 4.63 billion in the current fiscal year. Meanwhile, the arrival of containers carrying goods from China is very less. Around four to eight containers carrying goods from China enter Nepal via the checkpoint every day. READ ALSO:
