Team Triangle wins Hult Prize KCM OnCampus Programme 2023

A A- A+
KATHMANDU: Hult Prize KCM on Sunday successfully conducted a grand OnCampus Programme 2023 on 'Redesigning Fashion'. With delightful rays of ideas reflecting the possibilities to redesign the conceptual framework of fashion, participants from KCM had an 'eternal sunshine on their own meaning to 'sustainability in fashion'. Along with the finalist teams competing for the title to qualify for the Oncampus 2023 qualifiers next round, it took a lot of work head-to-head with each idea they pitched. With the idea itself and the supporting pacts to present those answers whether it was worth getting hands-on $1 million or not, at the end of the day, they were just trying to come along with a single message that the Hult Prize has provided, which is to make fashion in this world worthwhile to experience. The selected teams for a position in the final were Team Shanti: Second Runner-up; Nyima Choezom Sherpa, Samriddhi Shah, and Ngima Sangmo Rokaya had the vision to create interior-designed items of furniture from the blocks of fibres extracted from waste clothes. Team Phoenix: First Runner Up; Prisha Kochar, Sumedha Rijal, Kriti Chaudhary and Muskaan Goyal had entered the footwear market where they contemplated reusing waste clothes and tyres to create a shoe made out of waste materials. And the winning team of this year's Oncampus Programme: Team Triangle; Selina Maharjan, Frijya Prasai, and Sanjeevani Bati, stepped up with a plan to create upcycled yarn made out of various waste fibres that further incorporate the whole ecosystem replenishing the fashion market. On the end note, the campus director of Hult Prize KCM 2023, Subi Kaphle, thanked the participants who had their sleeves all rolled up to make an effort to contribute to this year's theme with their ideas. The jury panel comprised Rewati Gurung, Founder of Kokroma; Ramile Nemkul, Founder of KASA; Sandeep Shrestha, ESG consultant at Worldbank; Nirdesh Dw, Founder of Veda; and Sayush Kharel, Chief Executive at Nepal's Private Equity Association who supported with a commitment to lead this generation to a greater cause for redesigning fashion. IDP Education Student Services Nepal was the education partner for the event, Hokkaido Ramen House and Dekkaido restaurant were associate partners, while the supporting partner was Gents Park.
