TEDxDurbarMarg organises physical TED Talk in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: TEDxDurbarMarg, the country’s largest TED Chapter organised the fourth physical TED Talk in Kathmandu, on Saturday. Sudeep Rauniar, Managing Director, TEDxDurbar Marg, said, "TEDxDurbarMarg, the country’s largest TED Chapter has been established as one of the emerging idea centres in the region." Varun Sridhar, CEO Paytm Money, spoke on the topic, 'Art of Now' and the essence of ‘now’. "Now the time for Nepal is to shine, taking Nepal to the world," he said. Similarly, Namrata Shroff, Co-founder of Powna Sakes spoke about the process "switch on" in one's life and said, "Experience as many things as you can because that will switch things on for you." Anukool Bhatnagar, Chief General Manager at State Bank of India (SBI) emphasized paying taxes. He talked about the importance of paying taxes. "The cycle of earning money and paying taxes is crucial," said Bhatnagar, who has experience of 36 years in the banking sector. [gallery columns="1" size="full" link="file" ids="23732,23725,23733,23726,23724"] Likewise, Anil Keshary Shah, CEO of Nabil Bank said there are five ingredients that make our life, a life. Shah mentioned five ingredients — family and friends; money or economic wealth; health, power, and relationship with the greater good — that lead to happiness in life. He emphasized the importance of learning about one’s own core competencies and working on them. Likewise, Anuradha Koirala, founder of Maiti Nepal, talked about her life journey and the trafficking scene in Nepal. Similarly, Joseph Silvanus, Managing Director, Dolma Consulting, said, "Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) is an area that keeps me alive and is close to my heart. It all matters what we eat, and where we live. I prefer equity because we come from different backgrounds, different presents and different futures." Similarly, Shilpa Maskey, Sahail Rupakheti, Joseph Silvanus, Anukool Bhatnagar, Machut Shishak were other speakers who talked about life, its ingredients, pandemic, and taxes among other contemporary issues. The event took place at Aloft Kathmandu Thamel. The country’s largest TED Chapter held the physical programme after three-year hiatus due to Covid 19 pandemic. READ ALSO:
