Truck loaded with cooking oil falls 200m below road in Dhading

MALEKHU: A truck carrying cooking oil from Biratnagar to Kathmandu fell below the road in Gajuri Rural Municipality-2 of Dhading district this morning. The truck (Na 5 Kha 5955) plunged about 200 metres onto the bank of Trishuli River at Jarekhet, according to police. The driver's cabin of the truck caught fire after it fell on the river bank. The fire was immediately brought under control by the local residents along with the police, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhavesh Rimal at Gajuri Area Police Office. A team of the Armed Police Force from Adamghat also joined the rescue operation. Police have yet to establish the cause of the accident.
