KATHMANDU: Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Devendra Paudel, has urged international organisations including United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) to increase assistance for Nepal's educational development and continuity of teaching-learning activities amid COVID-19 pandemic.
Minister Paudel, who returned home after taking part in the 41st UNESCO General Convention organised in Paris of France, said that he appealed to the representatives of international organisations to that end.
He said that support of the international community was necessary as emphasis should be laid on skill-oriented and educational quality in order to create employment opportunities in the country.
Secretary at the Education Ministry, Ram Prasad Thapaliya, Deputy Secretary General of Nepal National Commission for UNESCO, Babu Ram Adhikari were in the delegation led by Minister Paudel.
