Agriculture, Livestock and Medicinal Herb Insurance Directive to come into effect from July 17

KATHMANDU: Beema Samiti (Insurance Board), the insurance regulatory authority of the country, has issued the ‘Agriculture, Livestock and Medicinal Herb Insurance Directive, 2077 to be effective from July 17.

With this, the earlier Insurance Directive, 2077 has been scrapped, said Samiti’s executive director and spokesperson Raju Raman Paudel.

According to the Directive, the insurance company should expand its service in the designated districts and the insurer should open its branch near the agriculture knowledge centre or agriculture and livestock office in the district.

The insurance scheme can cover agriculture, livestock and medicinal herbs collectively, according to the provision.
