BPW Nepal celebrates 50th anniversary and Women’s History Month

KATHMANDU: Federation of Business and Professional Women Nepal (BPW Nepal) today organised a programme to celebrate 50 years of empowering women and enriching Nepal, and Women's History Month. BPW Nepal was founded by Ambica Shrestha in Nepal in 1972. BPW Nepal, a member of International Federation of Business and Professional Women (BPW International) has 13 chapters in different districts and is working for youth engagement and advancement in business and different occupations. BPW International President Dr Catherine Bosshart was the chief guest at the programme.

Their work is also based on ending gender-based disparities and discrimination, increasing literacy, opening reproductive health care and child care centres, establishing day care centres in four industrial estates, skills training for women and young girls, micro-enterprise development since 2002, influencing policy and advocacy at national and regional levels in 1980, business development services including exposure visits, market linkages and credit facilitation, establishing health cooperatives creating collaboration and networks between women's institutions.
