Buddha Air to operate flights from Janakpur to Pokhara

KATHMANDU: Buddha Air is set to operate direct flights from Janakpur to Pokhara from the day of Mahashivaratri festival on March 1. Both Janakpur and Pokhara are popular tourist destinations in the country.

Several efforts were made to connect Janakpurdham — a religious place of Madhes Province — with Pokhara —one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country — in Gandaki Province,  to promote domestic and international tourism.

Civil Aviation Office, Janakpur informed that it was all set to operate direct flights from Janakpur to Pokhara.

Station manager of Buddha Air at Janakpurdham, Bijay Kumar Singh, informed that the advance ticket booking of the flight began on Wednesday. Initially, the flights will be operated thrice a week — Monday, Thursday and Saturday — and then as per passengers’ need, he added.

Previously, Madhes Province Chief Minister Lal Babu Raut had made a written comment that he would take initiative to connect these two tourist destinations of the country.
