Cabinet decision: Five secretaries transferred

KATHMANDU: The government has decided to transfer five secretaries. Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki shared this at a news conference organised at the Ministry, in course of giving out information regarding decisions taken by the Council of Ministers on Tuesday. As per the government decision, secretary at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Rabindra Nath Shrestha, has been transferred to the post of Chief Officer of the National Vigilance Centre. Similarly, secretary at the Ministry of Water Supply, Suresh Acharya has been transferred to the post of Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM), and the secretary at the OPMCM, Maniram Gelal, has been transferred to the Ministry of Water Supply, and Chief Officer at the National Vigilance Centre, Sushil Chandra Tiwari, has been transferred as secretary at the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation. Likewise, secretary at Nepal Trust Office, Gopal Prasad Sigdel has been transferred to the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport. The meeting of the Council of Ministers has also approved the address made by President Bidya Devi Bhandari to the joint session of the Federal Parliament on Tuesday. Also the government spokesperson, Minister Karki informed that the Council of Ministers decided to approve the visit of Deputy Attorney General  Dr Tek Bahadur Ghimire to participate in the 'Cyber Security Leadership Programme and Training' to be organised in the USA. Similarly, it has been decided to approve the participation of Chief Secretary at the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, Madhes Province, Krishna Bahadur Raut, in the Comprehensive Security Course to be organised in Honolulu, USA, and of the delegation led by the Minister for Agriculture in the programme related to food security to be held in India. The government also decided to publish in the Nepal Gazette a notice prohibiting to organise strikes in 25 essential services related to public welfare, and to constitute a delegation led by the Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to participate in the 14th virtual meeting of the India-China Diplomatic Consultation Mechanism to be organised from today. The government has decided to give approval to a visiting team led by the Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation to take part in the programme on agriculture, horticulture and cooperatives being held in Germany, Belgium and France from June 12 to 19. It has decided to give approval to the Communication and Information Technology Minister to participate in a programme on telecommunications to be organized in Kigali of Rwanda. The Council of Ministers has, on the recommendation of the Public Service Commission, decided on promotion, appointment and installation in the post of Gazetted First Class of Nepal Agriculture Service, Fisheries Group.
