Covid 19 cases gradually increasing; 90 new cases on Wednesday

KATHMANDU: The new cases of coronavirus infection have been gradually increasing of late. The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Wednesday reported 90 new cases of coronavirus infection. With this, the count of active cases of Covid 19 has reached 471. Additionally, 23 persons have tested positive for the infection in the antigen test. Likewise, no death from Covid 19 has been reported in the past 24 hours. As of Wednesday, the country has witnessed a total of 11,952  deaths from Covid 19. As many as 20 patients of Covid 19 have recovered in the past 24 hours. As of Wednesday, a total of 967,575 people have recovered from the viral disease, the data released by the MoHP showed. Presently, the recovery rate stands at 98.7% while the case fatality rate is at 1.2%. Earlier, the MoHP on Tuesday reported 73 cases of coronavirus infection that had taken the nationwide tally to 979,908. In the past 24 hours, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests were conducted on 1,549 samples and Antigen tests on 1,175 samples. Presently, there are 471 persons staying in isolation in the country.
