KATHMANDU: Idea Studio Nepal, a platform that promotes entrepreneurship, launched three products created by the ideators at a programme organised in Kathmandu, on Sunday.
Idea Studio Nepal launched ‘Nyano Pad’ created by Idea Studio Season 5 Ideator Bhim Prasad Kafle; ‘Bio-Greens’ by College Idea Hunt 2022 Ideators Anish Giri, Devi Kumari Giri, Narayan Thapa Magar and Yamnath Giri; and ‘We for Nature’ by College Idea Hunt 2022 Ideators Prashanna Shyaula and Prajwol Joshi.
'Nyano pad' by Idea Studio Season 5 Ideator is a reusable heating device that can be turned on instantly whenever and wherever the user needs it with a simple metal flex. The product, once recharged by boiling water, can be used later at the user's convenience without needing a heat source. The product stays warm for 30 minutes after being activated. The device can be of great help during the winter for households as well as for providing instant heat treatment for patients that require it.
Likewise, 'Bio-Greens' by College Idea Hunt 2022 Ideator is a young seedling of edible vegetables and herbs. Normally the vegetables and herbs take weeks or months to grow, microgreens can be harvested and eaten within a week to 10 days after the cotyledon forms. Microgreen contains 45 times more antioxidants, polyphenols, and eight times more micronutrients than mature greens. Microgreens have a number of benefits depending on the product consumed; it helps to reduce cancer risk and lower cholesterol. Polyphenols help to fight against heart disease, reduce blood sugar levels, and are anticarcinogenic agents. Antioxidant acts as antiaging and reducing agents. Microgreen helps to fulfil the recommended dietary allowances (RDA).
Similarly, 'We for Nature' provides unused and discarded textiles with a new life by upcycling them into daily utility products like slippers, tote bags, hand carry, cushion covers, and bed sheets among others. Instead of sending that waste to landfill sites, 'We for nature' uses them as raw materials and convert them into handy products. The main motive of the business is to promote eco-friendly sustainable products.
