HELP celebrates one decade of establishment

A A- A+
KATHMANDU: Helambu Education and Livelihood Partnership (HELP) celebrated one decade of its existence by organising a  programme in Mulpani, Kathmandu district, on Friday. On the occasion, students from different schools collaborating with the HELP put handicraft items made of cardboard, paper, bamboo and wood on exhibition. The paper bags, bouquets, décor items, plough, grinder and other household and farming tools still used in the villages were also showcased. Former Minister and member of the House of Representatives Gagan Kumar Thapa was the Chief guest at the programme. Former Minister Thapa inaugurated the event by lighting a butter lamp.  The programme also featured dance and songs performed by students and Sathi volunteers. The event was held at Norling Resort in Mulpani.

HELP, an NGO, was established in 2009 with the goal to improve the education quality in some schools in remote villages of Sindhupalchok district. Help's education programmes have supported around 90 schools, benefitting over 10,000 children in many of the outlying and impoverished villages in Helambu valley and the adjacent valleys. The majority of the education programmes are funded by a UK-based charity, Mondo Challenge Foundation.
