Malaysian TSP company to take Nepali workers on zero investment

KATHMANDU: A Malaysian technical service provider company has reached an agreement with two Nepali manpower companies to take Nepali workers at zero cost. Deputy General Manager of Wistron Technology (Malaysia), David; chairman of Akarshan International, Bishnu Bahadur KC, and Chairman of Lal Dhanus International Service, Nawang Sherpa, signed the agreement to this effect, at a programme organised here today. As per the agreement, Nepali workers are permitted to go to Malaysia through the two manpower companies, without making any investment. The Malaysian company will take 450 workers in the first phase. A total of 140 women and 60 men will fly to Malaysia through Akarshan international while 175 women and 75 men will fly through Laldhanush International. A high-level management team of the company which is working to take the Nepali workforce to Malaysia has arrived in Kathmandu. Interview dates have been set for Wednesday and Thursday for workers' selection. All costs involved in sending the selected Nepali workforce to Malaysia will be covered by the company, informed Weston Technology Deputy General Manager. "We are sensitive to the safety and health issues of workers," he said, adding there will be no discrimination in wages and opportunities between Nepali and Malaysian workers.
