MoHP reports 375 active Covid 19 cases in Nepal

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) reported 375 active cases of Covid 19 with the addition of 11 new cases on Sunday. With this, the Covid 19 count has reached 978,665. Additionally, a person has tested positive for the infection in the antigen test. Likewise, the MoHP has recorded no death from Covid 19 in the past 24 hours. As of Sunday, the nationwide death toll from Covid 19 has reached 11,949. The data shows that there are 42 active cases of Covid 19 in three districts of Kathmandu valley. There are 28 active cases in Kathmandu, 11 in Lalitpur and three in Bhaktapur, as per the data released by the MoHP. As many as 36 patients of Covid 19 have recovered in the past 24 hours. As of Sunday, a total of 966,339 people have recovered from the viral disease, the data released by the MoHP showed. Presently, the recovery rate stands at 98.7% while the case fatality rate is at 1.2%. Earlier, the MoHP on Saturday had reported six cases of coronavirus infection that had taken the nationwide tally to 978,654. In the past 24 hours, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests were conducted on 2,750 samples and antigen tests on 739 samples. Presently, there are 375 persons staying in isolation while 106 others have been placed in quarantine in the country. Meanwhile, more than 501.80 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus worldwide while at least 6.58 million people have died from Covid 19, Covid 19 Global tracker data shown by Reuters.
