PCR test fee reduced after PM Deuba’s direction

KATHMANDU: The fee for the PCR test for coronavirus has been reduced after Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba instructed to do so. PM Deuba had directed Health Minister Birodh Khatiwada and Health Secretary Dr Roshan Pokhrel to reduce the fee, reasoning it was high in hospitals and laboratories. With this, government hospitals will now charge only Rs 800 for the RT-PCR test while private hospitals can charge up to Rs 1,500 for the PCR test. Earlier, it cost Rs 1,000 at government hospitals and Rs 2,000 at private hospitals and laboratories. READ ALSO:
