MoCTCA forms committee to probe into charter flight irregularities

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) on Thursday formed a committee to carry out investigation into irregularities in charter flights made for rescuing Nepali migrant workers from gulf countries during the first and second wave of coronavirus pandemic. The three-member probe committee was formed under the coordination of Joint-Secretary at the MoCTCA, Hom Prasad Luintel. Other members of the committee are Under-Secretary at the Ministry, Tek Narayan Poudel, and acting Director General of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), Prem Nath Thakur. The probe committee has been asked to submit its report within 10 days. The probe committee would start its work from Friday, said Coordinator Luintel. Meanwhile, speaking at a photo exhibition organised by the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts on Thursday, Tourism Minister Prem Bahadur Ale said that an arrangement of the budget will be made for the academy for the protection of art and culture. Similarly, Chancellor of the academy, KK Karmacharya, complained that the artists of Nepal could not show their talent due to a lack of budget. By RSS READ ALSO:
