KATHMANDU: The 18th Handicraft Trade Fair and 16th Handicraft Competition organised by the Federation of Handicraft Associations of Nepal (FHAN) concluded on Sunday. The Federation said that the three-day fair recorded transaction of Rs 80 million.

At the concluding ceremony of the fair, Bagmati Province Chief Minister Rajendra Pandey said that the Province Government would extend its support for the development and expansion of handicrafts adding that Nepali handicrafts have good market in foreign countries.

Likewise, Deputy Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Hari Prabha Khadgi Shrestha pledged her full support for the development of the handicraft sector on behalf of the Metropolitan City.

FHAN President Surendra Bhai Shakya stated that the handicraft sector played a vital role in the preservation of arts and cultures as well as for export and employment creation in the country.
