
KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) organised 'Digital Payment Promotion Walkathon 2023' in Kathmandu, on Saturday.
The central bank organised the morning procession with the aim of promoting digital payment transactions.
NRB Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari inaugurated the morning procession. On the occasion, he called upon all concerned parties to promote and encourage electronic payment transactions.
The morning procession started from Durbarmarg and passed through Bhadrakali, Shahidgate, Jamal and reached the central bank premises in Baluwatar via Durbarmarg, Narayanhiti Museum, Narayanchaur, Police Headquarters Naxal and Bhatbhateni.
Deputy Governor Neelam Dhungana Timsina, chief executive officers of banks and financial institutions, representatives of remittance companies, payment system operators and payment service providers, along with senior officials and employees of the NRB participated in the morning procession.
The monetary policy for the fiscal year 2022/23 has announced that this year will be celebrated as 'Digital Payment Promotion Year'
