MetLife Nepal supports education for empowerment programme in Dang

A A- A+
KATHMANDU: MetLife has provided financial assistance to the Nepal Women Community Service Center (NWCSC) to support the Education for Empowerment Programme in Dang district. Under this project, Rs 360,000 has been provided to NWCSC for educational support for 50 students in different community schools in Dang. With technological advancement, multiple opportunities and digital learning tools have evolved for children. However, there are children from different parts of rural Nepal who lack basic education due to inadequate school standards and the unavailability of learning materials. These children also dream of prospering and reaching new heights in life, but the path to helping them excel is still lagging due to a shortage of funds. To protect, aid, and transform the lives of these children, Education for Empowerment has been working with different schools to provide quality education with the necessary resources. Through this assistance to NWCSC, MetLife intends to provide stationery items, school uniforms, school bags, and tuition fees for these underprivileged children from Dang. This project will help these children access quality education without interruption and give them the chance to pursue their dreams. Nurturing these children will help us uplift rural communities and improve the living standards of people. Nirmal Kajee Shrestha, Vice President and General Manager of MetLife Nepal, said: "As ambassadors for financial protection and a secured future, we are grateful for this opportunity to help these children build a foundation for their prosperous future. By supporting their education, we hope to encourage positive changes within their communities and prepare them for sustainable livelihoods.” MetLife has been operating in Nepal since 2001 as a branch of American Life Insurance Company, incorporated in the USA, a subsidiary of MetLife, Inc.
