Companies compete to promote products, services at CAN Info-Tech 2023

KATHMANDU: There is a huge competition among exhibiting companies to market and promote their services and products at CAN Info-Tech exhibition being held at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu. Federation of Computer Association Nepal (CAN Federation) began the 28th edition of CAN Info-Tech exhibition on February 7. Various companies have introduced special offers and schemes to attract visitors to their stalls at the country's biggest exhibition of products and services related to information, communication and technology (ICT). Different companies and brands participating at the InfoDevelopers CAN Info-Tech 2023 are providing information about their products and services to consumers from the stalls. It is noted that the interest of visitors has increased in technology produced in Nepal, research and achievements in the field of innovation, and IT-friendly startup businesses. CAN Federation Secretary General Chiranjibi Adhikari informed that there were many visitors who wanted to learn about the technology used in agriculture, tourism, hospitality and other sectors. He said among visitors, the number of youths has increased at the exhibition this year compared to the past. Various national and international companies and brands related to fintech, internet service providers, telecom service providers, hardware sales and power solutions are present in the branding room at the exhibition venue. Various service providers and sellers have offered discounts on their services and products. Apart from booking items and providing free consultations, they are also organising coding challenges and fun games. The organiser of the exhibition, CAN Federation, is also regularly organising various online contests on Facebook, Instagram and other social networks and providing free entry tickets and gifts to participants. It is noted that visitors are mostly interested in robotics, startup companies, gaming and other new technologies. The number of visitors who want to learn about startups and innovations has increased at the exhibition. There are more than 20 companies participating in the startup pavilion at the 28th edition of CAN Info-Tech exhibition. Many distinguished guests also visited the exhibition on Thursday. Nepali Congress General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma, former Chief Minister of Karnali Province, Mahendra Bahadur Shahi, CEO of Electronic Governance Commission Dipesh Bista and officials from various fields, artists and dignitaries visited the fair on Thursday. There are more than 150 stalls including electrical and electronics, security solutions, laptop and desktop computers, printers, power systems, computer accessories, anti-virus software, banking solutions, CCTV, hard disk, and animation multimedia. Similarly, IT colleges, banks, insurance and accounting software, self-learning software and tutorials, mobiles among others are the attractions at the CAN Info-Tech. CAN Federation President Ranjeet Kumar Poddar said that CAN has given priority to startup companies to promote the latest ideas in the field of technology. He expressed his belief that CAN Info-Tech and the conference would help the government's goal of digital Nepal. InfoDevelopers, a software company, is the main sponsor of CAN Info-Tech 2023 while DishHome Fibernet is an associate sponsor. Nepal Telecom is the Diamond Sponsor, Maya Animation Academy and Huawei Technology are Gold Sponsors, S Power, On Sikka, and Digicom are Silver Sponsors. Paywell Nepal is the ticketing partner, Kumari Bank Limited is the Banking Partner, IME General Insurance is the Insurance partner, Lord Buddha Education Foundation is the Knowledge Partner while Training partner is International School for Skills, Food and Beverage Partner is Racket Bar and Events, Virtual Exhibition Partner Mandala System, CCTV Partner is E3 Sales and Services and SMS Partner is Sparrow SMS. Meanwhile, ICT seminars on different topics have also started since Wednesday. A seminar on "Blockchain in Nepal" concluded on Thursday. Vivek Koirala, an expert in blockchain technology, and Divya Dali, Managing Director of Digital Edge, facilitated the discussion about the use of blockchain technology in Nepal, the resources required for it, employment opportunities and the support it provides to various industries. Rojina Dangi, CSIT Association President, was a moderator for the panel discussion at the seminar. Likewise, seminar on 'Fintech and Cross Border Inward Payments and Remittance' was also held on Thursday. It is believed that this seminar would give CAN Info-Tech a meaningful interaction between the stakeholders along with the exhibition. CAN Federation Secretary General Adhikari said that along with products and businesses, the knowledge and expertise of Nepali people have been given a platform at seminars on how their knowledge can be taken to the world.
