KATHMANDU: The Food Management and Trading Company (FMTC) has built physical infrastructures along the Tukuchakhola in the capital city breaching the code but not paying the land and house tax to the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC). Chairman of KMC-11 Hiralal Tandukar said the FMTC has not paid land and house tax for leasing seven ropanis of land Plot No. 2395. The FMTC had issued a public notice some five years ago to rent the land and over 20 companies had applied for the tender bidding. Of them, Funland Entertainment was awarded the contract on April 20, 2017, to lease the land at Rs 1.05 million per month for the highest bidding, Information Officer at FMTC, Sarmila Neupane Subedi, said. The FMTC has not paid the tax despite renting the house. Tandukar said that the Chief Executive Officer and other officials of the FMTC were asked to pay the tax prior to selling the land plot to the Metropolitan Police Range. “But, they settled the issue without paying taxes. However, the ward office has received Rs 600,000 in tax for the recommendation of the road access,” Tandukar said. By RSS READ ALSO:
