KATHMANDU: The government is set to implement the masterplan for the development of the Pashupatinath temple Area and take measures to preserve old monasteries.
The budget presented for the coming fiscal year 2023/24 by Finance Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat at the joint meeting of the Federal Parliament today mentions that religious and cultural sites will be developed as religious tourism sites.
Monasteries older than 100 years will be preserved as well as monasteries in Nuwakot, Sindhupalchok, Makawanpur, Dhading and other districts damaged by earthquakes will be reconstructed.
An integrated archive will be prepared for the protection of Guthi land, read the budget.
