Govt urges residents of Kathmandu valley to receive Covid vaccines

KATHMANDU: The government has urged all the residents of Kathmandu Valley to receive vaccines against Covid 19. Issuing a notice, the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Wednesday urged the residents of Kathmandu valley to receive the vaccine to lessen the risk of coronavirus. Joint Spokesperson at the MoHP, Dr Samir Kumar Adhikari, shared that the Ministry has urged all the people above 18 years of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur to have Vero Cell and AstraZeneca vaccines. The residents of Kathmandu and Lalitpur districts have been asked to have the vaccines from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm while people in Bhaktapur can receive vaccines from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Twenty-two vaccination centres have been set up in Kathmandu and Lalitpur while there are two in Bhaktapur. Vaccination centres have been set up at APF Police Hospital, Balambu; Shree Birendra Hospital, Chhauni; Nepal Police Hospital; Shukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital; Paropakar Maternity Hospital; Sahid Memorial Hospital, Kalanki; Lotse Building, New Bus Park; Bir Hospital; Bayodha Hospital; Civil Service Hospital and Apex Polyclinic, Koteshwor in Kathmandu. Similarly, vaccination centres have been set up at Nepal-Korea Friendship Municipality Hospital, Thimi and Khwopa Hospital, Chyamasingh in Bhaktapur. Likewise, in Lalitpur, the vaccination centres have been set up at Patan Hospital; Chhaba-Bahal Public Health Branch; Sainbu Health Post; Bajrabarahi Chapagaun Hospital; Badegaun Primary Health Post; Lele Primary Health Centre; Lubhu Primary Health Centre; Imadole Health Post; Bhattedanda Health Post; Chaughare Health Post and Gotikhel Health Post.
