‘Huawei Digital Nepal Conclave 2022’ to kick off tomorrow

  • Over 60 speakers from five countries to give keynote presentations at conclave
KATHMANDU: ICT Foundation Nepal will host 'Huawei Digital Nepal Conclave 2022' in association with InfoDevelopers and Connected by Ncell on June 18 and 19. More than 60 speakers from five countries will participate in the two-day programme that will be held at Soaltee Hotel in Kathmandu. The conclave will feature ten sessions on five different themes related to Digital Nepal. Patrick Lowe, an industry expert from Huawei Singapore, GM of Open Network, Pallab Shah, including Ken Airheart of Parascoma Inc from USA will make presentations of keynotes at the conclave. Likewise, keynote presentations will be given by ICT expert Manohar Bhattarai, banker Anil Shah, CEO of Investment Board Sushil Bhatt, Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari, and Secretary of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology Baikuntha Aryal. Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun will inaugurate the programme, and Minister of Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki will be the special guest of the conclave. The Digital Infrastructure and Connectivity session will follow the presentation and opening of the note on the first day of the conclave sessions. Similarly, the second session has been titled Digital Skill, Talent Pool, and Digital Workforce for Digital Nepal. The first day's third session will be Data Gaps, Bridging the Data in the Centre stage, and the first day's final session is Digital Economy and Investment Opportunity. Along with some keynote presentations, the second day will include sessions on Emerging Technologies for Digital Transformation, Digital Entrepreneurship, and Cyber Security. On the same day, there will be important sessions on Digital Innovation and Beyond for the Digital Society, Building Digital Leadership, and finally, the Way Forward for Digital Transformation. According to the organisers, in addition to the conference sessions, there will be some exhibition stalls related to Digital Nepal, and Huawei will have an exhibition of new technologies called 'Lighting Up the Future' in a separate hall at the same time. Razan Lamsal, Chairman of the ICT Foundation, stated that extensive discussions and interactions will take place regarding the framework, agenda, concept, and digital transformation of Digital Nepal. According to him, this is likely the first major programme addressing this issue since the Digital Nepal Framework 2019 was made public. The organisers met with the chief minister, ministers, people's representatives, and stakeholders to discuss the province's digital transformation practices and efforts. At the same time, the organiser will make public the report, which includes the province's digital status. More than 800 participants including secretaries of government bodies and various ministries, stakeholders from eight important sectors under the Digital Nepal Framework, corporate and banking sector leaders, experts, and entrepreneurs will attend the Digital Nepal Conclave. The event, dubbed the 'Digital Nepal Conclave for Digital Transformation,' is sponsored by Huawei, with co-sponsors InfoDevelopers as “In-Association with” and Ncell as “Connected by”. The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MoCIT), Nepal Telecommunications Authority, Nepal Rastra Bank, Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), and Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) are all supporting the programme. The Asia Foundation is Conclave's development partner. Likewise, NIC Asia is the ‘Banking Partner’, Nepal Clearing House is the ‘Digital Payment Partner’, Presidential Business School is the ‘Knowledge Partner’ and Nepal Telecom is the ‘Official Partner’.
