Local levels should prioritise skill development, market promotion: Industry Minister Rijal

MAHOTTARI: Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Ramesh Rijal has urged the local levels to prioritise skill development and market promotion. During a meeting with people's representatives of Bardibas Municipality and leading political cadres in Bardibas, Mahottari district, on Thursday, Minister Rijal mentioned that a journey of prosperity could get momentum only if skills could be enhanced to boost production as per local skill and to increase the market of locally-produced goods. He opined, "Let's connect people with skill, skill with production and produced goods with the market." The government is ready to support if local levels take leadership for the same, shared Minister Rijal. He further suggested people's representatives should make plans to forward activities as per the concept of an industrial village at every local level. Also, the central committee member of the Nepali Congress, Minister Rijal opined that there should be a clear roadmap for raising people's living standards in the regular organisational activities and plans of the parties. On a different note, he clarified that there will be no intervention by the government in the investigation and action on the fake Bhutanese refugee scam forwarded by police. All of them, who are involved in this scam should face action, added Minister Rijal, saying all political parties should stand together to stem corruption as it is the main obstacle to the country's prosperity.
