KATHMANDU: Norvic International Hospital has given a new life to a boy who was in critical condition due to a lack of medical treatment. The hospital in Kathmandu, under its corporate social responsibility, offered concession in the treatment of eight-year-old Vijay Mahato, a resident of Sapahi in Lakshminarayan Rural Municipality of Dhanusha district. Meanwhile, Mahato has fully recovered and has been sent home. The boy from a poor family was suffering from swollen stomach and could not walk. According to his father Shivsharan Mahato, the boy was brought to Kathmandu after visiting a hospital in Janakpur, where doctors said there was no treatment for such disease. Due to his poor financial condition, he was not in a position to take him to a good hospital. However, he got good treatment facilities along with concessions in treatment at Norvic International Hospital. "Norvic Hospital has given discounts to the poor people like me on treatment expenses," Mahato said, and added, "Dr Abhay Yadav who provided treatment, also gave us a discount. With their help, my son has recovered." The boy was unable to walk due to pus and pain in the abdominal muscles. But after treatment, he could walk comfortably before he was sent home. Megha Chaudhary, Managing Director at Norvic International Hospital, had arranged for the treatment of the boy. Under her direction, a medical team led by Dr Yadav provided the treatment. Dr Sushil Kayastha, who was in the team, said the child got a new life after treatment. He recalled that the child's condition had become very serious due to the infection. "If the treatment had not been provided on time, the condition could have become the worst. After the treatment, his condition is now very good. But that child has to take antibiotics for a long time," He said. The hospital's Managing Director Chaudhary said the hospital has been rescuing poor and vulnerable citizens every year as part of its corporate social responsibility and providing free treatment services. She expressed her commitment to helping those who cannot be treated by the hospital due to lack of expenses in the future. READ ALSO:
