KATHMANDU: Size of Nepal's overall economy is projected to be Rs 5381.34 billion with an increase of 1.86 point percentage in the consumer price in the fiscal year 2022/23.
At a news conference organised by National Statistics Office on Tuesday, it was projected that the GDP per capita of Nepalis will be $1,399 in the current fiscal year while the remittance inflow is projected to be Rs 1231.73 billion.
On the occasion, Chief Statistics Officer Ram Prasad Thapaliya said the statistics were made public to help formulate the economic policy of the country by measuring different aspects of the economy and help monitor and assess the economic development activities.
Likewise, Deputy Chief of the Office, Hemraj Regmi, said that agriculture has the highest contribution to the country's GDP in the current fiscal year with 24.12%.
However, the industrial sector has a contribution of 5.32% to the GDP.
