The Art of Living celebrates June as ‘Month of Yoga’

  • The Art of Living to celebrate International Yoga Day at DECC Hall of World Trade Centre on June 21
KATHMANDU: The Art of Living has been celebrating June as the month of Yoga since 2015 with various introductory and advanced level yoga workshops and mass awareness campaigns. The non-profit, educational and humanitarian organisation is conducting Yoga sessions for governmental and non-governmental schools, colleges, army camps, APF and others this year. [gallery columns="1" link="file" size="full" ids="25235,25234,25233"] The Art of living is also conducting a Yoga Festival in Heritage Sites where people from all walks of life can participate freely. This event started on June 13 in Basantapur, Kathmandu Durbar Square where more than 100 people from various backgrounds participated in yoga. This chain of events continues on the premises of Mahadevsthan on June 13, Matatiratha on June 14, Swoyambhunath Stupa on June 15, Bagalamukhi on June 18, Boudhanath Stupa on June 19. The beauty of Harmony in Nepali culture has inspired people representing Yoga, IT professionals, students, British Gurkha trainees, karate practitioners, homemakers, and others to come together for a noble cause. Special Yoga sessions for Army and APF were scheduled for today and Wednesday. [gallery columns="1" link="file" size="full" ids="25237,25239,25238"] Yoga teachers at The Art of Living are conducting free yoga classes outside Kathmandu Valley including Pokhara, Chitwan, Lumbini, Butwal, Bhairawa, Dhangadhi,  Dang, Biratnagar, Jhapa and other places under the coordination of Art of Living Yoga Coordinator Riya Thapa. [gallery columns="1" link="file" size="full" ids="25242,25241,25240,25232"] The Art of Living is focusing on health and happiness and the theme for this year's Yoga Day is “Yoga for Humanity”. The event is followed by evening Satsang and Patanjali Yoga commentary by humanitarian, spiritual leader, and the founder of Art of Living Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. He is also conducting online yoga for the whole world. The main event will take place on June 21 on the occasion of International Yoga Day, at DECC Hall of World Trade Centre at 6:30 am where the entire family of The Art of Living, Kathmandu, is coming together to celebrate Yoga. The event will have Chief Guest Minister for Youth and Sports Maheshwor Jung Gahatraj (Athak). The organisation is celebrating Yoga Day both online and offline. Yoga is a skill in action. It gives the energy to maximise potential in life so anyone can join the event on June 21 at DECC Hall of World Trade Centre to experience yoga, the union of body, mind, and spirit. READ ALSO:
