Yarsagumba collection to be opened in Dolpa from May 25

DOLPA: District Coordination Committee, Dolpa has decided to allow the public to collect Yarsagumba in the district from May 25 this year. An all-party meeting convened by the District Coordination Committee, Dolpa, fixed the date. The meeting chaired by DCC Chief Sher Bahadur Budha at the district headquarters Dunai on Saturday was held with the participation of the chief representatives of various district bodies. As per the meeting, the collection of the Ophiocordyceps sinensis will be allowed in Shey-Phoksundo National Park and various community forests until June 24. Stating that the public has not been able to collect Yarsagumba for a long time due to Covid 19 pandemic, this time it will be open for about a month. Residents of the buffer zone, within the district and outside the district, will be charged different entrance fees for the collection of caterpillar fungus as per the National Parks Act and regulations.
