MoHP reports 632 new cases of coronavirus on Monday

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Monday reported 632 new cases of coronavirus infection. With this, the Covid 19 count has reached 987,228. Additionally, 263 persons have tested positive for the infection in the antigen test. Likewise, the MoHP has recorded one death from Covid 19 in the past 24 hours. As of Monday, the nationwide death toll from Covid 19 has reached 11,968. Presently, there are 4,934 active cases in Nepal. Meanwhile, the three districts of Kathmandu valley have registered 1,916 cases in the past 24 hours. Kathmandu logged 373 new cases, Lalitpur logged 66 cases and Bhaktapur logged 17 cases, as per the data released by the MoHP. As many as 264 patients of Covid 19 have recovered in the past 24 hours. As of Monday, a total of 970,326 people have recovered from the viral disease, the data released by the MoHP showed. Presently, the recovery rate stands at 98.3% while the case fatality rate is at 1.2%. Earlier, the MoHP on Sunday had reported 496 cases of coronavirus infection. In the past 24 hours, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests were conducted on 2,651 samples and Antigen tests on 3,195 samples. Presently, there are 4,934 persons staying in isolation in the country.
